The Murguia family
El Tejavan means “the front porch.”
Jose and Patricia Murguia started selling tacos and tortas to earn extra money from their store on Grand Street. They soon added a front porch and turned the space into a restaurant.
Today the family and their relatives cook homemade recipes from their native Guadalajara, for locals and for travelers passing through on I-40.
