Why it's called El Tejavan

Tejavan means front porch.

José and Patricia Murguia ran a convenience store on Grand Street and started selling tacos and tortas to earn a little extra. Then they added a front porch, turned the space into a restaurant, and named it for the porch.

The Murguia family and their relatives still cook the recipes they brought from Guadalajara.
